Enjoy a decade’s worth of Hot Rodding action at Shakespeare County Raceway – for so many years the spiritual home of the NSRA Nostalgia Nats and Hot Rod Drags.
We first filmed these events back in 2007, and were immediately blown away by the eclectic mix of vehicles that packed out this much loved venue. The pairing lanes to run down the historic quarter mile were full to capacity, and wherever you looked there was something else to catch the eye.
So many historic cars, bikes and dragsters took to the track with hot rods squaring off against classic American muscle cars, dragsters grudge racing historic funny cars in the Run What Ya Brung, and who could forget the spectacle that was the Flathead Meltdown?
Take a trip around the site and get close up to some of the UK’s best hot rods and customs - you start to get the idea of what made these events so special. Plus, as a bonus, head out on the unbelievably busy cruise at the 2010 NSRA Hot Rod Super Nats at Old Warden.
By evening time at Shakey, things went to another level with the wild Saturday night burnouts in the fire up road, the spectacular fire burnouts, and the legendary cackle fest. Even though Shakey is closed forever, the memories will always live on.
